Amar'e came back for the Knicks tonight and we got a nice preview of the future. Carmelo scored 45, had an overall great team, but because of Stoudemire's presence the Knicks lost. Sorry Meacon and naiwf, hold out hope for him to get injured again.
Also, I really like how Nash changes the Lakers. I wasn't taking them for dead, but I was starting to have some doubts. Now I truly think they'll get the bench depth they need in February. The West is deep, as usual, but the top is littered with parity. OKC looks like the team that will wind up as the favorite, but the Clips have insane depth, Memphis can play with anyone, the Lakers as mentioned are turning it around, the Spurs are the Spurs, and (I never thought I'd type this) the Warriors look like a force to be reckoned with as well.
The East might change when/if Rose comes back and Chicago could take Miami, but I have serious doubts anyone but the Heat will be coming out of the East this year.
My Wizards are dreadful and who knows when John Wall will be ready, not that it matters as tanking isn't a bad idea at this point of the season. I'm watching some college basketball (I'm not a huge college basketball fan, most of the games are insufferably boring when held against the fast-paced pro game), and Shabazz Muhammad would look great in red, white, and blue. Getting a nice center, like Cody Zeller or keeping Alex Len in the Beltway would be a decent prize should they decide to add a center for the future. I can't be too certain on Len's ceiling though, I don't see his productivity being more than a Robin Lopez. That wouldn't be a massive problem if Wall and Beal develop around each other well enough though. I haven't had the chance to scout much other talent yet. Nerlens Noel I know is good, Anthony Bennett from UNLV is getting better every game, and Marcus Smart appears to be a good player too but the Wizards have no need for him (or any guard) in the draft.
